Lydia Davey is a communications strategist who helps purpose-driven people and organizations grow strong brands. She is a content marketing manager at Apple Inc., where she leads content strategy for FileMaker, Inc. Davey has more than a decade of experience in communications, and her entrepreneurial mindset, curiosity, and insights have been employed by Fortune 500 companies, international non-profits, and tech startups alike. Previously, Davey was the CEO of Moriah Creatives PR, a San Francisco-based public relations firm that helped small businesses drive sales through stories. Prior to that, she served as a U.S. Marine Corps Combat Correspondent and Press Chief, working extensively throughout Africa, Asia, and Europe. Davey co-developed Women Warriors: A course on post-traumatic growth at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and served as a course instructor there. She holds a B.A. in Communications and Media Studies from Indiana University, and is Defense Council Member at the Truman National Security Project. In her spare time she enjoys adventuring in remote places.
Gavin Lippman is a project manager on the People (Human Resources) Team at Dropbox. In this role, Gavin works on strategy and operations, driving initiatives for the People Team in the areas of: operational management; project management and implementation; and, communications. Prior to joining Dropbox, Gavin served in the United States Marine Corps for 8 years. He split those 8 years living in North Carolina and Germany, working primarily in Manpower & Human Resources. He deployed to Afghanistan in 2009, where he oversaw all aspects of administrative affairs for over 1000 military and civilian personnel. While based in Germany, Gavin worked at the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM) where he was responsible for Navy and Marine Corps personnel management. In addition, he served as an analyst for AFRICOM’s Legislative Affairs, coordinating and developing briefing and analysis documents for high-visibility visits from Members of Congress and congressional committee staff. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Gavin graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.
Garrett served 6 years as an infantryman in the United States Army. Garrett completed two tours of duty in Afghanistan and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service. After leaving the Army, Garrett attended the University of California, Davis where he graduated with honors in 2015. Garrett now works as a junior project manager for a Disabled Veterans Business Enterprise, and as a freelance writer. His writing has been featured on Linkedin Pulse and GIJobs.com.
